Teknik Elektro Universitas Jember

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jember was initially established as a Study Program equivalent to a faculty, known as the Engineering Study Program. It was officially recognized through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 366/DIKTI/Kep/1999 dated July 26, 1999, granting permission to open three Diploma III (D3) study programs: Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. In 2002, the Engineering Study Program expanded to include three Bachelors Degree (S1) programs: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education No. 1990/D.5/2002 dated September 20, 2002. From that point on, the Electrical Engineering Study Program was restructured into the Department of Electrical Engineering, which comprised the D3 Electronics Engineering and the S1 Electrical Engineering Study Programs. As the institution continued to grow, the Rector of the University of Jember issued Decree No. 10438/H.25/PS.8/2007 dated November 13, 2007, declaring that the Engineering Study Program was officially changed in status to become the Faculty of Engineering. In 2017, the Department of Electrical Engineering launched a Masters Program (S2) in Electrical Engineering, bringing the total number of study programs within the department to three. In line with increasing student interest in vocational (D4) programs and the opportunity for upgrading from D3 to D4 as encouraged by the Directorate General of Vocational Higher Education, the Department of Electrical Engineering proposed the opening of a D4 program. This proposal was approved through Decree No. 48/D/OT/2022 dated March 20, 2022. Currently, the Department of Electrical Engineering manages three study programs, all of which are accredited as “Excellent”.

  3. Component Elements: There are three components represented (Resistor, Antenna, and Capacitor), symbolizing the three main disciplines within Electrical Engineering: Electronics, Telecommunications, and Power Systems.
  4. Shield (Cable): The shield is shaped like a plug cable, symbolizing protection, inclusivity, and unity — aligned with the slogan “Dulur Selawase” (Forever Family).
  5. Initial “E”: The letter “E” stands for “Elektro” (Electrical Engineering), creatively designed using negative space between the cable prongs to form the letter.
  6. Happy People: The antenna resembles a joyful child raising both arms, representing happiness and enthusiasm.
